A couple of these colonial-era trading houses have been lovingly restored to house the boutique Hotel INTHIRA. Its street-side Café & Bar, which features a modern artistic interior, overlooks the historical town square with the traditional water fountain (nam phou) hosting (in future) a nightly food and handicraft bazaar. The square borders the Mekong River and faces the town of Nakhorn Phanom on the Thai side, which is beautifully illuminated at night time.
